Harold C. Graver

June 27, 1955 — May 30, 2008

Harold C. "Bear" Graver, age 52, of Lorain, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 30, 2008, after a long illness.


He was born on June 27, 1955 in Lorain, where he has resided his entire life. He is a 1973 graduate of Lorain High School.


Harold retired from AAR, in Avon. He was also employed at US Steel and at Goodwill, for awhile. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Lorain, where he was a groundskeeper for a long time. He was also a member of the North Central REACT, where he was the president for a few years.


"Bear" was very patriotic. He enjoyed playing baseball, especially for the Grace Baptist Church team. He enjoyed all sports, riding his motorcycle, and loved being around kids.


He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna J. (nee Wright), his son, Harold J. "Joey" Graver, and daughter, Brandi Mitchell, both of Lorain, his grandchildren; Tyler J. Hurn, Gwendolyn R. Hurn, and Elizabeth Nicole Hurn, all of Lorain, brothers; Charles Faurot, of Lorain, Kermit E. Graver, Jr., of Maryland, and Kenneth P. Graver, of Elyria, and sisters; Joyce Hamilton, of Lorain and Rosemary Phillips, of West Virginia.


He was preceded in death by his parents; Kermit E., Sr. and Mary Agnes (nee Lambert) Graver, a son-in-law, Timothy Mitchell, and a brother, John F. Graver.


The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Friends will also be received on Tuesday, from 1:00 pm until the time of services at 2:00 pm at the Grace Baptist Church, 719 Root Road, Lorain. The Rev. Jay Roller, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
