Harold E. Moyel, Jr., age 80, of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, after a brief illness.
He was born on Januray 3, 1928 in Cleveland, residing in Lorain County his entire life.
Harold was in the United States Air Force, earning the Occupation Medal (Germany), the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Longevity Service Award with 1 bronze star. He was employed at US Steel-Kobe, Lorain for over 20 years, retiring in 1990.
He attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a member of AA for 25 years, where he was a sponsor, assisting many people. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 451. When Harold lived in Washington, he sponsored a Boys and Girls Club.
He enjoyed golfing, playing BINGO, working word puzzles, and working on his Christmas crafts.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Dennis) Stammitti-Reeve, of Lorain, his grandson, Andrew, a brother, Thomas Moyel, and sister, Mary Lou Park, both of Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Harold E. and Isabel (nee Bowers) Moyel, and a daughter, Heidi Marie Moyel.
The family is holding services at a later date.
