Harry Williamson, age 80, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain, following a brief illness.
He was born on May 1, 1930 in Crum, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1958.
Harry was employed as a relief-man for Ford Motor Company in Lorain and Avon Lake for over 33 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #425 and was a United Auto Workers Union Local #2000 Retiree.
He loved fishing, boating, hunting, and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed working in the yard, and working on cars, but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jewell (nee Adkins), sons; Harry Jr. (Michelle), James and Sherman, all of Lorain, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister, Jane Williamson, of Columbus and half sister, Myrtle Short, of Crum, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Williamson, stepmother, Rose (nee Copley) Williamson, mother, Margaret (nee Pauley) Maynard, step-father, Isaac Maynard, and brothers; Sherman Williamson Jr., Dan Williamson and Don Williamson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Officiating, will be the Sheffield Church of God. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
