Hattie V. Belczyk

Hattie V. Belczyk (nee Falencki), age 91, of Lorain, passed away on October 11, 2011, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
She was born on July 29, 1920, in Lorain, where she lived her entire life. She was a 1938B graduate of Lorain High School. After high school, she attended the Lorain Business College. Hattie worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at Falencki Hardware. Prior to this, she was a deputy clerk for the Lorain County Recorders Office.
She is a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, and was a former member of St. Stanislaus. Hattie was a member of the Red Cross Motor Corp, during World War II and was also a member of the Queen of Poland Lodge. Hattie loved art and was formerly active with the Art League of Lorain, winning numerous awards and ribbons for some of her artwork. She even won a "Best of Show" award for one of her floral watercolor paintings, at a show in Kentucky.
Hattie is survived by her brother, John, of Lorain, her sisters; Frances Butkiewicz and Helen Wilczak, both of Lorain, and sister-in-laws; Irene and Cecil Falencki, both of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Walter A., in 1999, and her brothers; Leo, Edward, and Joseph.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 14, from 11:00 am until the time of her funeral Mass at 12:00 pm, at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
