Helen F. Gatlin (nee Stanley), age 82, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 11, 1928 in Hazen, Arkansas. She moved to Lorain in 1948 where she resided most of her life.
Helen was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, bake, and enjoyed listening to music. She was also proficient in sign language.
She is survived by her daughters; Linda (Joe) Gatlin Lobertini, of Avon Lake, Brenda (Stan) Tony, of Lorain, Cynthia Gatlin and her fiancé, Tom Vargovich, of Sheffield Lake, 3 grandchildren; Kelly (Johnny) Cordova of Lorain, Ginger (Roger) Damron, of Berlin Heights, and First Class Petty Officer Jeremy (Yvette) Wilson, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and 2 brothers; Irvin Stanley of Bellpre, Ohio and Dr. Larry Stanley of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A., parents; Roy and Florence (nee Edge) Stanley, a brother, Warren Stanley, and a sister, Sybil Haynes.
The family held private services.
