Helen M. Treboniak, 91, a life long resident of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
Born April 3, 1917 in Lorain, she graduated from Lorain High School in 1935.
Helen worked as a clerk in the blueprint department of Lorain Products/Reliance Electric in Lorain, retiring in the early 1980's. Prior to that, she worked at the Lorain Public Library during the depression and for Stanadyne during World War II.
Helen was devoted to her faith as a life long member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lorain. She was also a member of the parish Rosary Society, the Catholic Golden Agers, and the Padua Travelers.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling, making preserved flowers, word puzzles and especially spending time with her family, including attending her nieces and nephews activities.
Surviving are her bothers, Al of Lorain, and Stanley "Butch" of Avon; a sister, Theresa "Tess" Wrzesinski of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Treboniak and Anna (nee Front) Treboniak; brothers, Ed, Joseph, Rudy and Anthony; sisters, Sophie Jesko and Rose Wyszynski.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 am followed by mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
