Helen E. Zimmerman (nee Loterbaugh), age 86, of Lorain, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on August 19, 1925 in Columbus. She also lived in Zanesville, OH for a few years before moving to Lorain at the age of 16. Helen was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moose Lodge #552, in Lorain.
Helen enjoyed being with her family, especially when she was able to play with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her daughters; Deborah Zimmerman, of Lorain, Tammara Metera, of North Ridgeville, Patricia Johnson, of Lorain, Kimberly Ann Flowers, of Lorain, Cheryl Kitts and Sandra Garnet, both of Florida, 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and brother, Ronald A. Loterbaugh, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Floyd, in 1996, son, Harold R. Heartman, grandson, Jason Metera, parents; Chester and Luema B. (Bright) Loterbaugh, sisters; Rose Nessler, Gloria J. Gregg, and Twyla Bradner, and a brother, Donald C. Loterbaugh.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where her funeral service will be held at 8:30 pm. Fr. Eric S. Orzech, Pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, will officiate. Her burial will take place on Wed., Dec. 28, at 2:00 pm, at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, with Fr. Eric S. Orzech officiating.
