Henrietta C. Krafcik (nee-Springowski), age 82, of Lorain, died on Saturday, December 24, 2005 in the Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born on November 22, 1923 in Lorain, Mrs. Krafcik had lived in Lorain for all of her life. She was a 1941-B graduate of the Lorain High School and was a 1942 graduate of the Oberlin School of Commerce. She had been employed by the Lorain City Schools and had worked as the Secretary to the Superintendent for 17 years and then worked as the assistant treasurer for the schools for 7 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and was a member of the Women's Guild of the church. She was also a member of the Lakeland Women's Club and a former-member and secretary of the former United Polish Club Auxiliary of Lorain for 25 years.
She is survived by 2 sons- Charles Krafcik of Cleveland and Randolph Krafcik of Aurora; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and her sister- Lillian Danicki of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years- Bernard A. Krafcik in 1999; and her parents- Charles and Catherine (nee-Vincek) Springowski.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dovin funeral home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, with the Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
