Henry J. Nessler aka Niesuchowski, age 89, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
He was born on October 15, 1919 in Natrona, PA, moving to Lorain in 1923. He was in the United States Army, from 1942 until 1945, earning the Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
Henry was employed at US Steel for 35 years, as a relief Foreman in the Maintenance Division, retiring in 1983. He was also employed at American Shipbuilding, Lorain, Colson Manufacturing, Elyria, General Industries, Elyria, Fruehauf, Avon Lake, and American Stove, Lorain. He was a member of Nativity of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, as well as the Civilian Conservation Corp, and the United Steelworkers Union Local 1104. Henry enjoyed going fishing.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheila A. Jones, of Florida, Charlotte A. Breckenridge, of Colorado, and Rosalie L. Stottlemire, of Lorain, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie (nee Loterbaugh), in 2000, a son, Joseph Arthur, in 1948, parents, Joseph, in 1923 and Felicia (nee Meirzejewski) Niesuchowski, in 1947, a sister, Helen, in 1930, and his brother, Daniel, in 1975.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, from 2-4 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
