Ida Lee McLemore, (nee Robinson), 86, of Lorain, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 3, 1919 in Town Creek, Alabama, living in Richmond Indiana before coming to Elyria in 1944. She has been a resident of Lorain since 1972.
She was a member of Church on the North Coast, and enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Nathaniel "Boss Man" McLemore of Cleveland; daughters, Delora "Peaches" Baker of Milwaukee, Wis, Betty "Becky" Hill, Jenny McLemore Smith and Lynda "Totot" Carter all of Lorain, Mona "Red" Evans of Lithonia, Georgia; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great-grandchildren; brothers, Shamus Robinson of South Carolina, and Willy Robinson of Boston; a sister, Christine Cooper of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel McLemore; her first husband Frank Saunders; a very special son-in-law, James Hill in 1998; a granddaughter, Penny Hill in 2004; and her parents, William H. Robinson and Charlsie A. (nee Willis) Robinson.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Compassion Baptist Church, E. 22nd Street and Oakdale Ave., Lorain. Rev. Larry Robinson, pastor of Body of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
