Irene M. Spears (nee Edwards), age 66, of Lorain, died on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 23, 1942 in Glasgow, West Virginia, moving to Lorain 40 years ago. She was a member of Tower Baptist Church. Irene enjoyed her church and being with her family.
She is survived by her sons; Christopher (Kimberly), Wayne, and Adam Spears, all of Lorain, her grandson, and 3 granddaughters, her brothers; Edward Edwards, of Cleveland, and Burt W. Edwards, of Venice, FL, and her sisters; Peggy Snodgrass, of Belle, W. VA, and Martha Mullett, of Glasgow, W. VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jewell "Jack" Spears, on June 1, 2007, her parents; Owen and Ottie M. (nee Hudnoll) Edwards, and 2 sisters; Mary E. Petry, and Betty Ruth Edwards.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral Services will be held the following day, at 11:00 am, at Tower Baptist Church, 1331 Tower Blvd., Lorain. The Rev. Gary Dorsey, Pastor, will officiate.
