Irving L. Blount, age 63, of Vermilion, died on Friday, December 26, 2008 at his residence under the care of Hospice of Western Reserve.
He was born March 28, 1945 in Tampa, Florida and came to this area in 1960. He served in the Army as a Courier in Washington D.C. and Bremerhaven, Germany during the Vietnam War. He first was a millright at Lorain Ford Assembly Plant and then later at the Avon Ford Plant with the total of 42 years of service, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of UAW Local 2000 and formerly Local 425. He enjoyed reading fiction and novels.
Surviving is his wife of 16 years, the former Barbara A. Court, and a son, Christopher Lee Blount, of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irving C. Blount, his mother, Jean (nee O'Bryant) and a son, Robert M. Blount in 1992.
Private services for the family will be held.
