Isabel Maria Murphy-Aguilar, age 60, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Community Health Partners West, following a brief illness.
She was born on January 13, 1948 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. She lived most of her life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York, until moving to Lorain 4 years ago to be with her eldest daughter.
Isabel was the family matriarch. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and anyone else who needed help.
She is survived by her daughters: Maria I. Quinones-Murphy, of Lorain, Barbara Gonzalez-Murphy, and Sandy Janet Murphy, both of Brooklyn, New York, grandchildren, Eric A. Quinones, Desiree A. Quinones, Adrian J. Quinones, Jason M. Gonzalez, Gabrielle A. Gonzalez, Justin A. Gonzalez, Sierra A. Gonzalez and Joseph A. Ortiz, 1 brother, 1 sister, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Teodoro Aguilar and Maria (nee Tejera) Aguilar, 2 sisters, 1 brother and a nephew.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2008, from 6-8:30 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held at 8:30 pm. Pastor Mark Hebebrand, Associate Pastor of House of Praise Church, will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
