Jacob E. Conn, died on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain, following a long illness.
He was born on May 9, 1931 in Sommerset County, PA, moving to Lorain in the late 1950's.
He served in the United States Air Force.
Jacob was employed as a machinist at PMR Machine Repair and at Warner Swarzies. He also worked at the steel mill in Lorain.
He enjoyed gardening and reading.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Barbara (nee Watkins), sons: Silas "Ed" (Debora) Conn and Gary W. (Ann) Conn, 2 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren, brother: Bernard (Linda) Conn, sisters: Pearl Oakman, Laura "Dot" Conn, Dana (Dennis) Troupe, Sandra (Ronald) Sabia and Melda (Paul) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lester H. and Lucinda L. (nee Shoyer) Conn, brothers: Alvin, Warren, Tommy and a sister: Jackie Conn.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Tues. at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Richard Henry, pastor of Amherst Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
