James Ross Branim, Sr. age 73, of Elyria, died on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at his residence, following a long illness.
He was born on March 7, 1935 in Robbins, TN, moving to this area in 1961.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1960 as a air policeman.
James was employed at National Gypsum Plant, Lorain for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed attending local high school football games and playing bingo.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Rose M. (nee Harsar), sons: James R. Branim, Jr, of Allardt, TN, Albert L. Branim, of Elyria, daughters: Tina M. Celestino, April L. Branim, Dawn M. Corcino, all of Lorain, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and brother: Warren Lee Branim, of Dalton, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his daughter: Susan Branim, granddaughter: Rachael Branim, parents: Albert and Mable (nee Smith) Branim and brother: Houston Branim.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 7-9 at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and on Saturday from 12 until time of services at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Matthew Darren, pastor of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
