James R. "J.R." Collins, age 61, of Lorain, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, after losing his battle with cancer. He passed away while his family and many close friends were by his side.
He was born on June 23, 1951 in Connellsville, PA, moving to Lorain in 1973. "J.R." was employed as a supervisor and metal fabricator for Lorain Products/Emerson for 32 years. He enjoyed going to car shows as well as restoring cars. He also loved to fix things for anyone who asked. Above all, "J.R." cherished his time spent with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pamela J. (nee Cochran), his children; James R., and Joann E. (Michael) Wilson, both of Lorain, and Michael (Jennifer) Glisan, of Farmington, PA, his grandchildren; Michael D. Wilson, Jr., Avery J. Wilson, Austin Glisan, and Reid Glisan, and his sisters; Lois Alviar, of Ohiopyle, PA, Arleen White, of Princeton, WV, and Diana Minnick, of Uniontown, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Lillian (nee Sipe) Collins.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 12, from 11:00 am until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
