James A. Kilkenny, age 56, of Sheffield Lake, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at University Hospital, Cleveland.
He was born on January 19, 1959 in Lorain. He attended Murray Ridge School, Elyria, where he was also employed as an assembler at the Alpha Care in Oberlin.
James was a member of Christ the King Church in North Olmstead. He enjoyed swimming, track, basketball all with the special Olympics having received numerous medals. He also enjoyed cooking and music.
He is survived by his brother, George of Lorain; and sister, Judy Kilkenny of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary (nee Hoffman) Kilkenny; and sister, Peg Lanier; and his companion, Carolyn Edwards of Lorain.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 from 12:00 until time of services at 1:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Pastor Emeritus Thomas Slater, of Christ the King Vinyard Church, North Olmsted, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. To send online condolences, go to
