James (Jim) F. Landy, age 49, of Lorain, died on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his sisters residence in Elyria, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on August 18, 1962 in Lorain, where he has been a lifelong resident. He was a 1980 graduate of Southview High School. He served in the United States Army as a Spec E-4.
Jim was employed as a nurse's aide for Autumn Aegis Nursing Home for 18 years, until 2011. He enjoyed bowling, as well as coaching bowling for children. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survived by his wife, Laura (nee Guthrie), son, Clinton Guthrie, Jr., daughters; Amy Stephens and Michelle Guthrie, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, brother, John C. Landy of Lorain, and sisters; Londa Adkins, of Elyria, Nancy Leonard, of North Ridgeville, Sandy Justice, of Elyria and Renae Ralph, of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Shirley (nee Graham) Landy and grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Scott Nicoll, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Full military honors will be provided by the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.
