James W. "Ossie" Ossman, age 91, of Elyria, died on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at his home.
He was born on July 19, 1915 in Poston, Ohio.
James was employed as a union electrician for over 50 years for I.B.E.W. Local #129.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Lorain.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was very active with the youth baseball, coaching, managing, umpiring, playing baseball. He also enjoyed playing music at his organ, hunting, fishing and being a member of the "Sea Bee's".
He is survived by his wife of 72 years: Rachel (nee Auflick) Ossman, of Elyria, son: James "Butch" Ossman, of Elyria, daughters: Frankie Hall, of Vermilion, Billie Firestone, of Vermilion, Donna Nenzoski, of Elyria, Chary Turner, of Louisville, Kentucky, 20 grandchildren and 35 grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter: Diane Klukas, sister: Hester Hiller and his parents: George H. Ossman and Alta Eunice (nee Gaskins) Ossman.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jack Ison, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
