James L. Woods, age 56, of Elyria, died on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his residence, suddenly.
He was born on August 29, 1956 in Lorain, where he lived in Sheffield Township until moving to Elyria 8 years ago.
He attended Clearview High School. He was employed as a truck driver for various companies. James enjoyed blue grass music, fishing, turkey shoots and flea markets.
He is survived by his mother; Evelyn (nee Riley) Woods, sons: James Allen, of Lorain, Aaron, and Justin Woods, of Sheffield Lake, daughters, Chrystal Woods, of Elyria and Brittany Bragg of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, brothers, Clarence, David and Kenny Ray Woods, sisters, Mary Lucente, Lisa Woods, Teresa Longbrake and Phyllis Lane.
He was preceded in death by his father: Lonnie Woods, in 1997, brother, Lonnie A." Skeeter" Woods in 1995 and sister, Brenda S. Woods in 1993.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev . Charles Keesee, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, will officiate.
