Jane Browning (nee Sawyers), 74, of Sheffield Twp., passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 16, 1935 in Yukon, W.V., she attended Big Creek High School in War, W.V. Jane has resided in the Lorain area since 1957.
She worked as a home health care aid to the elderly and also did house cleaning for many years. Jane was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Elyria. She enjoyed collecting bells, angels, candy dishes, Fenton glass, bears and geese.
Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Harry; sons, Marty of Amherst and David of Elyria; a daughter, Teresa Jones of South Amherst; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Sawyers of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Sawyers; a son, Dennis in 1958; and brothers, Staff Sergeant Charles D., who died in Vietnam in 1967, and Billy Joe in 2008.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at Midway Baptist Church, 41810 Griswold Road, Elyria. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am in the church. Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements
