Janet M. Serfozo

Janet M. Serfozo, (nee Feldkamp), 76, of Lorain, died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a short illness.
Born Aug. 27, 1933 in Lorain, she was a life long resident here. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1952B.
Janet's first job was at Emmons Pharmacy in Lorain. She then worked for Dr. Hoffer in Lorain as a dental assistant. Following that, she worked for Faroh's Candy in Lorain.
She was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lorain, and the St. Joseph Ladies Guild. Janet was an avid walker, walking three miles every day. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was deeply admired by her many nieces and nephews.
Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Joseph; sons, Joseph (Kathy) of Lorain, and Andy (April) of Sheffield Twp; a daughter, Beth Serfozo of Lorain; nine grandchildren and 1 great grandson; brothers, Jim (Toni) Feldkamp, Richard (Josie) Feldkamp, and Ronald (Elaine) Feldkamp all of Lorain, and Larry (Chris) Feldkamp of Vermilion; a sister, Charlotte Engrish of Avon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Feldkamp and Margaret (Kramer) Feldkamp; twin brothers, Gerald and George; and sisters, Marybelle Broadfoot and Elaine Priebe.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave, Lorain, where the Ladies Guild will conduct a rosary at 3:30 and a wake service will be conducted at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by mass at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 317 W. 15th St., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Daniel Divis will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
