Janice Elaine Hintz, (nee Stock), age 54 of Nova, Ohio, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Hatteras Medical Center, Hatteras, North Carolina, following a sudden illness while on vacation.
Born August 25, 1951 in Lorain, Janice was raised in Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School in 1969. In 1974, she moved to Carlisle Township where she resided until moving to Nova in 2000.
Janice had worked in the classified department of the Chronicle Telegram from 1969 to 1977. In 1991, she then took the position as administrative assistant for the Lagrange United Methodist Church, where she worked thru to 2005. Most recently, she was employed in computer sales for Bryn Manufacturing in Elyria.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grafton, and was currently serving as the secretary of the Elyria High School class of '69 reunion committee.
Janice enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she also enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Allen Michael Hintz; son, Gregory of Elyria; 3 grandchildren; her mother, Grace Stock (nee Uthe) of Ft. Pierce, Florida; brother, Dr. David Stock of Dillard, Florida; and a sister, Joyce Downey of Clarksville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Stock in 1963.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the International House of Praise Church, 4321 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor of the International House of Praise, and Rev. Fr. John Seabold, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Grafton. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
