Jean Bangas, (nee Cica) 74, of Lorain, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, Lorain, following sudden illness.
Born June 13, 1930 in Lorain, she lived here her entire life. She was a 1948 graduate of Lorain High School and received her associate's degree from Lorain County Community College.
Jean worked as a cashier for Lorain County Community College for 15 years retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. Mark Serbian Orthodox Church, Sheffield Village, and enjoyed reading, shopping and being with her family.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Angelo Bangas, son; Tom Bangas of Chagrin Falls, daughters; Andrea Currence, and Patty Sauvey both of Lorain, Jan Mitchell of Avon Lake, 5 grandchildren, her mother; Mary Cica (nee Vorkavich) of Lorain, brother; Dan Cica of Bay Village, sister; Ellen Cook of North Royalton.
She was preceded in death by her father; Milovan Cica in 1986.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where a funeral parastas will be held at 5:30 p.m. Following the services the family invites those attending to remain for a dacha reception.
