Jerome V. "Jerry" Busser, age 73, of Lorain, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, following a short illness.
He was born Aug. 9, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio, he came to Lorain in the early 1930''s and has lived here since.
Jerry was the owner and operator of Kirby Service Center, Lorain for the past 15 years. Prior to this, he was a Kirby salesman for 2 years.
He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain, the Holy Name Society of the church, the Knights of St. John Commandary 314 Drill Team, Lorain, and the former Twin Cities Kiwanis having served as treasurer for many years.
He enjoyed playing cards, sports, and was an avid football fan.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Shirley (nee Miller), his mother; Joan Busser of Lorain, and his sister; Mary Jo Moorehead of Lillborn, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father; Vincent P. Busser, in 1984, and his son; Michael, in 1981.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Thomas Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
