Jewell "Jack" Spears, age 68, of Lorain, died on Friday, June 01, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, following a
long illness.
He was born on March 3, 1939 in Powellton, West Virginia and moved to Lorain 38 years ago.
He was employed as a yard-man at Ford Motor Company, Lorain for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain.
He enjoyed his Bible and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Irene M. (nee Edwards) of Lorain, sons: Christopher Spears, Wayne Spears and Adam Spears, all of Lorain, 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson, and brother; Frederick Spears of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father: Andrew Jackson Spears and mother: Sylvia Gay (nee Platt), 3 brothers and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Tower Baptist Church, 1331 Tower Blvd, Lorain. Rev. Terry Brooks, pastor will officiate. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
