John "Johnny" Carson, 88, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at West Bay Center in Westlake following a lengthy illness.
Born January 1, 1930 in Lorain, he lived in Lorain his entire life.
Johnny worked for the City of Lorain in the sanitation department for 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Lorain.
He loved riding his bicycle, attending the International Festival and helping out at church functions and activities.
Johnny is survived by his sister, Natalie Jursinski of Boca Raton, Florida; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pauline (nee Cup) Carson; brothers, Victor, Myron and Peter; sisters, Ann Maleski, Marie Stevens, Josephine Aron and Antoinette Leonard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at St. Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 2304 E. 34th Street, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Dimitri Belenki, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
