John F. Potter, age 89, of Lorain, died on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Lorain, following a brief illness.
John was born on November 5, 1923 in Lincoln Place, PA, moving to Lorain 60 years ago.
John served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed at BF Goodrich for many years.
He was a member of the Alliance of Transylvanian Saxons.
John is survived by his sons: Frederick, Andrew, Carl, Roger and John Potter, daughters: Lillian Chapman and Margaret Halladay.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda (nee Folberth) Potter, parents: Lillian (nee Humme) and Andrew Potter, brothers: Ken Potter and Paul Rudberg.
A graveside service will be at Round Hill Cemetery, 2131 Round Hill Church Road, Elizabeth, PA on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Military honors will be conducted. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements
