John R. Stephens, 69, of Lorain, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Oak Hills Nursing Home following lengthy illness while under the care of New Life Hospice.
He was born May 4, 1937 in Hackettstown, New Jersey; he came to Lorain in the 1970's.
He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving is his brother, Lawrence Stephens, William Stephens, Gary Stephens and Tim Stephens all of Hackettstown, N.J,; sister, Cicillia Stephens of Hackettstown, N.J.; step daughter, Cindy Caccavale of Elyria; and a step son, Tony Caccavale of New Jersey; and a step grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rose Stephens (nee Leggett) in 2002; parents, Raymond J. Stephens, and Mary K. (nee Keagen) Stephens; step granddaughters, Virginia Pyland, and Antinoa Pyland; a sister, Patty Stephens.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue Lorain.
