Johnny D. Torres, age 54, of Lorain died on Friday, August 8, 2008 at University Hospital, Cleveland, unexpectedly.
He was born on October 19, 1953 in New York, New York and had moved from New York to Lorain in 1970.
He served in the United States Marines for 4 years.
He attended Sacred Heart Chapel. Johnny enjoyed computers and had received a certificate for being a computer specialist. He also enjoyed music and playing dominoes.
He is survived by his wife: Sonya (nee Lobos) Torres, mother: Angela (nee Mercado) Torres, sons: John D. Torres, Jr. of Louisville, KY, Andre Juan Torres of Cleveland, Daniel Torres of El Paso, TX and daughter: Michelle Damaris Torres of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, 2 grandchildren, Alexus LaRae Torres, of Lorain and Isabel M. Torres, of Louisville, KY, siblings: Angie M. Brown of Lorain, Peter Torres of Cleveland and Maritza Torres of Lorain, his nieces and nephews; Nicole L. Nieves, Natasha L. Allen, Avery D. Brown, Peter Torres, Jr., and Michael J. Torres, his 2 great nieces; Imani S. and Solana N. Allen, and his beloved dog, "Bebe."
He was preceded in death by his father: Juan Torres Serrano in 2006.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp, with full military honors.
