Jose DeJesus Reyes, age 81, died on July 31, 2008 following a brief illness.
He was born on January 16, 1927 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, moving to Ohio in 1950.
Jose was employed at US Steel in the 3 & 4 Seamless Dept. for 33 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel for 48 years.
After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, exercising at Community Health Partners. He loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Francisca (nee Nieves), children: Cecilia Reyes, Rosa Rubin, Irma Schuka, Fred Reyes, Jose D. Reyes, Wilson Reyes, Aides Reyes, 30 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, also survived by brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Avelino Reyes Nieves and Ines DelValle, daughter: Hilda Reyes Rodriguez in 1997 and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 1-3 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Chapel. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, will officiate. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
