Jose Rivera, age 76, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at New Life Hospice Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 20, 1933 in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, and moved to Lorain 16 years ago.
Jose enjoyed cooking, especially pastellios, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son: Angel Rivera, of Puerto Rico, daughters: Olga Rivera, Maria Rivera, and Luz Rivera, all of Lorain, brother: Ismael Rivera, and sister: Antonia Rivera, of Puerto Rico, both of Puerto Rico, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by his wife: Maria Lopez Rivera and son: Jose Rivera Jr.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 10:00 until time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Deacon Jose Flores, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
