Joseph Gabriel Kadas, age 86, of Elyria, died on Friday, October 10, 2008 at his residence, while under the care of New Life Hospice.
He was born on November 21, 1921 in Sacele, Brasov, Romania, moving to Lorain in 1951 from Lansberg-Lech, Germany. He attended Presov Technical College, completing a 2 year program.
Joseph was employed in the Core Dept. of Kasper Foundry as a supervisor for 33 years, retiring in 1986.
He is survived by his daughter: Marie Greenfield of Elyria and Erika Taylor of Columbus, granddaughter: Dawn Wingler, of Elyria, grandsons: Fred Wingler, of Elyria, Ronald Greenfield, of Cincinnati, Donald (Peggy) Taylor of Columbus, Stephen Taylor of Miami, great-granddaughter: Brittney, brother: Tibor (Marianna) Von Kadas, of Germany, cousins: Georg and Gyongi Voina and other relatives in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years: Margarethe (nee Fuzesi) and parents: Joseph and Kathrina (nee Plonch) Kadas, brother: Laszlo Kadas and an aunt, Iren Voina.
He specifically wanted to thank his friends and neighbors, Loren Baumann, Owen Woodcock and Bob Kozlowski for their friendship and help in his final years.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, with Rev. Fr. David Novak, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, officiating.
