Joseph E. Kure, age 85, of Lorain, died on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at his residence.
He was born December 19, 1921 in Lorain, and was raised in South Ozone Park, NY.
Joseph served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Mate 3rd class and PBM flight engineer.
After the war he returned to Ohio and worked at the Lake Terminal Railroad until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 30 and a lifetime member of the Polish American Citizens Club. Joseph enjoyed watching baseball and football.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Genevieve (nee Darmafall) Kure.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Mary (nee Rezek) Kure, sisters: Mary Jannotte, Georgianna Watson, Eva Kure and brothers: Theophil and Robert Kure.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held on Wed. at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Paul Krajnik, pastor of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, with full military honors.
