Joseph Pozik, 82, of Lorain, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Elyria Memorial Hospital Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born June 18, 1928 in Lucerne Mine, Pa., moving to Lorain in 1955.
Joseph worked in the maintenance department of the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for over 30 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, Lorain, and the United Auto Workers Union 425. Joseph enjoyed his cars and watching baseball.
Surviving is his daughter in law, Sherry Justice-Snowden of Sheffield Twp; grandchildren, Erik Pozik, Alysha Pozik and Alana Snowden all of Sheffield Twp., and Amber Cochran of Amherst; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Justice of Sheffield Twp.; sisters, Irene Mrazik of Lorain, and Mary Spinner of Lucerne Mines, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Katherine A. (nee Durasin) in 2010; a son, Joseph J. in 2008; parents, August and Elizabeth (nee Hubner) Pozik; a brother, Alex; and a sister, Betty Andrews.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Mr. Luis Maldonado, deacon of Mary Mother of God Parish, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
