Joseph George "Joe" Woch, age 82, of Avon, died on Sunday, April 4, 2010 Avon Oaks Nursing Home, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 2, 1928 in Lorain, where he graduated from Lorain High School in 1946.
He served in the US Navy from 1951 until 1954 during the Korean Era.
Joe was employed at Ford Motor Company for 20 years in the Millwright Dept. retiring in 1991, prior to this he was employed at Fruehauf Trailor for over 20 years.
He was a member of St. Teresa's Avila Catholic Church, Sheffield Village.
Joe loved gardening.
He is survived by his sons; Joseph (Jan), of Wellington, Michael, of Elyria and Thomas (Margaret), of Los Altos, CA, daughter, Leslie Ann (David) McCowan, of Sheffield Lake, OH, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Donna (nee Diedrick), in 1997, parents; Thomas and Stella Woch, and sisters; Mary Danicki, Kathryn Trininski and Gladys Woch.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 7, from 3-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Thomas Cleaton, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Avon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Full military honors will be conducted.
