Josephine "Jo" Burkey

Josephine "Jo" Burkey (nee Proy), age 88, born May 28, 1922 at Tower Hill, PA, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010.
She is survived by a son, Earl L. (Sandy) of Lorain, daughter, Beverly E. (James) Sams, of Elyria Township, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren,0 and many foster children.
She was a member of Jolly 60's in Elyria, Ohio.
Jo was employed as a hairdresser and worked for 20 years for Red Robin in North Ridgeville as a manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patsy and Adelaide (Giannitti) Proy and brothers, Bernard and Louis Proy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Matt Jones, pastor of Broadway Assembly will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
