Josephine A. Rybarczyk, (nee Nemanic), 85, of Lorain, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin gently and peacefully in her sleep.
Josephine Agnes Rybarczyk was born in Lorain, Ohio on February 14, 1917, the second and twin child of Slovenian immigrants, John and Mary Nemanic. Jo had been a lifelong area resident.
Jo retired in 1978 from Zig's Food Market in Lorain, where she and her husband Zig had been in business for 32 years.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, Quota Club, The Professional Women's Club, and Ss. Cyril and Methodius Lodge K.S.K.J. No. 101.
Jo was an avid golfer, loved reading, bingo and playing cards.
Survivors include Zig, her husband of 65 years, daughter, Gayle Palmer of Gainesville, Virginia, 2 grandchildren, Kate Sullivan of Centerville, Virginia, and T.R. Schmitt of Arlington, Virginia.
Jo had a keen intellect, an engaging personality, a warm sense of humor, and a kind and gentle nature. Everyone whose lives she touched loved her. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th and Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Father Kevin Shemuga, and will officiate, assisted by Deacon William Schill. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
