Joyce A. Melnyczuk

Joyce A. Melnyczuk (nee Stursa), age 66 of Elyria, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born December 28, 1948 in Lorain, she graduated from Clearview High School in 1967. She moved to Elyria in 1973.
Joyce worked 11 years as a clerk in admitting and medical records at the former St. Joseph Hospital, Lorain, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Elyria. Joyce enjoyed collecting recipes and watching television.
Surviving is her husband, Steve; a son, Christopher Melnyczuk of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; a daughter, Tanya (Dennis) Mullins of Tipp City, Ohio; grandsons, Gavyn Michael and Graysen David; a brother, Wayne (Karen) Stursa of Lorain; and sisters, Kerry Jo Pettry of Elyria, Michele (Duane) Thompson and Maureen Reyes both of Amherst Twp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Eleanor (nee Mihelic) Stursa.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Contributions can me made in memory of Joyce to St. Agnes Catholic Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
