Juan S. Bauza, age 67, of Lorain, died on Friday, October 27, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a long illness.
He was born on December 1, 1938 in Lares, Puerto Rico, coming to Lorain in 1954 where he has lived since.
He worked for the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for 27 ½ years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #425, The Future Farmers of America, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
He enjoyed gardening, reading and writing poetry, reading, traveling, writing letters to the editor of the Morning Journal and La Latino and taking care of pigeons.
Surviving is his wife of 45 years: Ana Maria (nee Colon), sons: Rudy, of Lagrange Twp, Juan A. of North Ridgeville, and Eddie of Lorain, daughters: Sylvia Bauza of Seven Hills, Laurie A. Sanchez, of Lorain, 8 grandchildren and a brother: Angelo Soto of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Emilio Bauza and Maria (nee Gonzalez).
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Rogelio Rivera, pastor of Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Ebenezer, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
