Juanita A. "Louie" Kirkwood (nee Stanziano) age 53, of Lorain, passed away at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.
Born July 11, 1965 in Lorain, she graduated from Clearview High School in 1983 and went on to receive a degree from college. Juanita worked as a teacher for several years at Lorain Middle School and Meister Road Elementary School. She was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Lorain.
Juanita was a loving mother and grandmother who was known as the "community mom". She had a passion for wearing makeup, listening to music, cooking, cleaning and she always made sure that everyone was fed.
Surviving is her husband, Michael Kirkwood; daughters, Jatobia Thompson and Brittnee McElroy; sons, Travon Jackson, Fabion Kirkwood, David Meeks and Christopher Capers; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; her mother, Juanita Stanziano; brothers, Joseph Stanziano and Damion Williams; and sisters, Jennifer (Rick) Runion, Jean (Bryant) Keith and Latoya Williams.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Stanziano; and her daughter, Stephani Bernhardt.
