Juanita Sanchez (nee Rivera), 90 of Lorain, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born June 24, 1922 in Canovanas, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1951.
Juanita was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Lorain and a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She enjoyed playing Domino's.
Surviving are her sons, Jesus Jr. (Marsha) Sanchez of Amherst, Michael Sanchez of Lorain, Gabriel (Kim) Sanchez of Lakewood, and Raphael Sanchez of La Joya, CA.; daughters, Jenny Sanchez of Lorain, Migdalia (Gary) Sanchez-Ondrusek of LaGrange, Zoraida Sanchez of San Jose, CA., Carmen Sanchez of Las Vegas, Maria (Mack) Bohanner of Anaheim, CA., Cecilia (Edwin) Perez of Valrico, FL., and Felicita Sanchez of Lakewood; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with two great grandchildren on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jesus M. Sanchez in 1995; a son, Pedro Sanchez; and her parents Mariano and Clotilda (nee Rivera) Rivera.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of mass at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
