Judy Makuch

Judith “Judy” Ann Makuch (nee Kesterke), age 79 of Vermilion, went home to be with the Lord at her daughter’s residence in Lorain on April 7, 2025, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on February 5, 1946, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to William and Martha (nee Marks) Kesterke. Judy worked for many years at the Ford Motor Company where she retired. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermilion.

Judy enjoyed camping and especially enjoyed homemaking and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Joseph Makuch Sr.; sons, Joseph Makuch Jr and adopted son/grandson, Matthew Makuch; daughters, Pamela Meeker, Barbara (James) Smith, Kimberly Makuch, Loria Makuch and Lisa Makuch; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as her brothers, William (Sandi) Kesterke and Charles Kesterke and sister, Joan (James) Kaniaris.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; sister, Cheryl Gyorfi; sister-in-law, Katrina Kesterke; son-in-law, Richard Meeker as well as her great grandson, Jasyiah Jerrian Boone.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Jimmy Madsen will officiate.
