Judy G. Mercurio, (nee Adler), age 64, of Lorain, died on Thurs. Jan. 15, 2009 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 19, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. Judy had lived most of her life in Lorain.
Judy was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain.
She enjoyed bowling, doing plastic canvas, collecting Betty Boop things, listening to Elvis music and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Judy enjoyed babysitting in which she did for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Melinda McComas and Samantha McComas, both of Lorain, step-son, Kevin Mercurio, of Phoenix, AZ, step-daughter, Susan West, of Phoenix, AZ, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Ronald Adler of Mentor and Dennis Adler of Painesville, OH, sister, Jacqueline Grizzell, of Lorain and her special dog, Precious.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Philip M. Mercurio, died on Jan. 17, 2005, parents: Edwin and Jean (nee Narewski) Adler, and brothers, Larry Adler in 2004 and Bobby Adler in 1953.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 5-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Deacon William Schill, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
