Judy Phillips, (nee Bevan) of Lorain, died on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born on July 19, 1941 in Lorain, where she has been a lifelong resident.
Judy was employed at St. Joseph Hospital & Lorain Community Hospital as a registered nurse in the emergency room for 28 years, retiring in February 2008.
She was a member of the Heritage Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered regularly and also she was a member and contributor to the National Humane Society.
Judy enjoyed being with her grandchildren and loved all animals, especially her boxers. She will be loved and sadly missed by her family and co-workers.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Al, sons: Danny A. Phillips, of Las Vegas and Timmy A. (Connie) Phillips, of Amherst, grandchildren, Rylee, Timmy Jr. "T.J." Jason and Becky, 3 great grandchildren and sister, Dee (Al) Thiery, of Vermilion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin & Dorothy A. (nee Smith) Bevan, and brother, Charles D. Bevan.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m, and also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. James Smucker, pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
