Julio Caesar Solis, 73, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at his residence following a brief illness.
Born July 4, 1940 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain 50 years ago.
Julio worked as a foreman for Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 37 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed mechanics and working on cars, fishing and watching boxing.
He is survived by his daughters, Damaria Carrasquilla, Julia Delgado and Carmen Ortiz all of Lorain; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Jose Rivera and Pablo Cruz both of Elyria; and a sister, Connie Salgado of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Conrada (nee Agosto Davila) Solis in 2000; his son, John Davila in 2004; and brothers, Louie Rivera and Jose Rivera.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:00 am unit the time of services at 12:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Tony DeGracia, deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
