Kathleen S. "Kathy" Raccio, (nee Melbar) age 55, of Lorain, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain, following a brief illness.
Born on March 12, 1950 in Cleveland, and lived most of her life in Lorain.
She was a 1968 graduate of Lorain High School.
Kathleen was employed as a waitress at the United Polish Club, in Lorain, for 20 years, she also worked as a waitress at the Roman Room, Lorain, and the former El Zona in Westlake both for a number of years and also at the Greek Orthodox Church in Cleveland. She had worked most recently at New York Grill in Lorain for years.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain. Kathleen was also a member of the United Polish Club, Lorain, and the Mad Hatter's Club, Lorain.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling at the American Slovak Club, Lorain, cooking, camping, traveling, shopping and watching the Cleveland Brown's Games.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years: Michael W., sons: Michael J. of Phoenix, Arizona, Kenneth A. with the US Air Force, Washington, DC and a daughter: Hollie Vincent of Lorain, 3 grandchildren and a sister: Patty Rice, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John in 1988, and June (nee Ziegler) Melbar in 1982.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
