Kenneth M. Jama, age 75, of Amherst, died on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Center, Lorain, following a lengthy battle with polymyositis.
He was born on July 17, 1935 in Lorain, where he lived most of his life until moving to Amherst over 20 years ago.
He was a 1953B graduate of Lorain High School. Kenneth also was a 1957 graduate of Kent State University, where he received his degree in Business Administration.
He was employed for many years at CSX, working in the public relations office and then the coal traffic dept, before retiring from there.
Kenneth enjoyed watching the stock market, reading, and always took great pride in providing for and taking care of his wife.
He is survived by his soul mate and wife of 42 years, Genevieve F. "Jeni" (nee Fritz) and his dog, "Pudge."
He was preceded in death by his parents: Steven G. and Stella (nee Metka) Jama, and brother, Stephen Jama II.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 11 am until the time of services at 12 noon, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. The Very Rev. Fr. Basil Stoyka, Pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
