Kenneth E. Simms, 79, of Sheffield Twp, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 at his home.
Born on Nov. 22, 1928 in Nelsonville, he moved to this area in 1950. He was the owner/operator of Simms Septic Tank Service for 30 years retiring 1985. During that time he also was a self employed construction worker. Prior to that, he worked at Lorain US Steel. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Catherine; children, George, Larry, Earl, Audrey, Elizabeth, Virginia, Alice, and Charlotte; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Phillip, Danny and Terry; sisters, Wanda, Lorna, Joan, and Janet.
Preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, Jr., in 1952, son-in-law, Timothy Burgett in 2006; parents, George and Alice Simms; brothers, Joseph and Henry; sisters-in-law, Mary, Virginia, and Betty; brothers-in-law, Elmer and John.
Visitation Thursday 2 - 8 pm, in Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, with services at 7:00 pm by Pastor Young. The family requests that contributions be made to the Dovin Funeral Home.
