Larry Darnell Gage, Jr, "Big Gage", age 34, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Community Health Partners HSC West, Lorain, after a brief illness.
He was born on November 30, 1970 in Lorain, where he has remained as a life-long resident.
Larry was a 1987 graduate of Admiral King High School. He received an athletic scholarship to attend Central State University, where he excelled as a lineman for the Central State Marauders, CSU's football team.
"Big Gage" enjoyed being with his children, playing baseball and football. He truly enjoyed having a good time with his friends and dancing.
He is survived by his daughters; Darnella, of Lorain, and Simarra, of Kentucky, his companion, Latisha Mills, of Lorain, step-children; Cleonna and Teron, both of Lorain, his father, Larry Gage, Sr. and his mother, Gloria Taylor, both of Lorain, paternal grandmother, Willa Mae Gage, of Lorain, his brothers; Joseph Taylor, Jamal Ammons, Dominic Gage Taylor, and Aaron Gage, all of Lorain, his sisters; Linda Gage and Jasmine Ammons, both of Elyria, Cicely Shelton and Aarion Gage, both of Lorain, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; James and Dorothy Moye and paternal grandfather, Eddie Gage, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave., Lorain from 7-9 p.m., where services will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Peter Tower will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, is handling arrangements.
